Watch now: Effective discovery and design methods – A foundation for success

In this webinar, Emergo by UL’s human factors experts cover a range of ways to approach early research and design opportunities (aka Discovery) to inform long-term product development plans.

Webinar date

Aug. 24, 2023

Speakers

Cory Costantino, design director, HFR&D
Julee Henry, lead human factors specialist, HFR&D

Conducting long-term, full-scale product development is an expensive commitment with inherent risks. Not only are there risks of business or engineering failures, but there is also the risk of creating the wrong design for the wrong users and user needs. Our team members will highlight how discovery and design activities can be scaled early on, yielding dividends in terms of uncovering unexpected opportunities and potential usability issues that might cause delays if found too late in development.

Webinar attendees will gain a deeper understanding of the following:

  • Benefits of conducting, and risks of avoiding early research and design activities
  • Discovery research techniques
  • Early conceptualization techniques
  • Setting a strong foundation of user needs
