Design director Cory Constantino, research director Jenny Collinson, associate research director Andrea Dwyer, and senior human factors specialist Danielle Heinle will describe the major considerations for home-use devices, the common characteristics of the users, and potential impairments or other traits that might be present in each product’s target user group(s) that can affect users’ interactions with the product.

Danielle Heinle, senior human factors specialist
Danielle Heinle is a senior human factors specialist with Emergo by UL’s HFR&D team. She has been with the team since 2014 and has experience delivering HFE services to the medical device, medical software and pharmaceutical industries. As a senior human factors specialist, Heinle leads and conducts human factors research activities for medical devices and applications, including formative and HF validation usability testing. Furthermore, Heinle helps customers develop key human factors documents, including usability test protocols, HFE reports and use-related risk analyses. She holds a B.S. in biomedical engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
Cory Costantino, design director
Cory Constantino is a board-certified human factors professional. He received his M.S. in human factors in information design from Bentley University and his B.S. in industrial design from Wentworth Institute of Technology. Constantino oversees and contributes to a wide range of projects, including software user interfaces, instructional materials, hardware/ergonomic design reviews and multiphase projects, where he often contributes to user research and usability testing. Constantino has served as design director and co-founder of two startup companies, an adjunct professor of design, and a design consultant. For nearly 20 years, he has helped guide products, from hand-held consumer electronics to medical devices and software user interfaces, from concept to production. His unique and diverse experience enables him to deeply understand the intersection of customers resources, user needs and design vision.
