Australian TGA Releases Important Annual Charge Deadlines

Australia’s Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA), Australia’s medical device market regulator, has issued an announcement with deadlines and key dates relating to annual charges in preparation for the new financial year. As the sponsor of a good in the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) or as the holder of a manufacturing license, it is crucial to keep track of information and key deadlines regarding your account.

Key dates include:

• June 30 - Deadline for requests for voluntary cancellation of ARTG entries, as well as requests for transfer of sponsorship of ARTG entries
• July 1 - Commencement of new fees and charges
• August 1 to 15 - Issuance of annual charge invoices for active ARTG entries
• September 15 - Due date for full payment of annual charges of active ARTG entries

If you are a sponsor and your good is not being supplied any longer, you may revoke your license. Any manufacturing license that is active on July 1, 2023 will incur an annual charge for the new fiscal year.
